What customers say?

“ Unique. I have fond memories of Big Scoop because (1) my thesis in college was on this brand and (2) their ice cream is more often than not served in buffets around the Philippines. This joint serves hot meals too, but the star of the store is definitely the ice cream. It’s what I imagine when I think of an ice cream parlor. I went in and grabbed five pints which ranged between ₱85 - ₱99. Pretty good value for the quality you get. I’ve been a fan for so long that I remember the white cup and blue cap that used to be a Big Scoop signature, but definitely not complaining with the new colorful pint designs they have now. Oh, they’re the team behind Carousel Creamery too. P.S. Went back the next day and got the Mount Everest ”

“ An absolute must-eat local ice cream resto. Loved their sundae version. They let you choose ANY ice cream flavor as your sundae base. I chose strawberry fields which is fresh and perfect for summer, not too sweet. I can’t believe that as a bonus, they loaded up my sundae with a generous amount of whipped cream, plus an actual cherry on top — all for P105 only! Definitely coming back for more. ”

“ Big Scoop Ice Cream is one of my family's favorite dessert place because it is conveniently located and has a wide variety of delicious ice cream flavors. You can buy a scoop, a pint, half gallon or as much as a gallon of their ice cream. Aside from that, they have an assortment of specialty ice cream that includes the classic banana split, waffle bowl and the halo-halo supreme, good for sharing if you're a light eater. They also serve meals here, however, I wouldn't recommend having our lunch or dinner here. The food they serve are nothing special and a bit pricey. Some meals do include a tall glass of iced tea and a scoop of ice cream of your choice, but I just don't think you'll get your money's worth. Come for the dessert, but have your meal some place else. ”

“ The wife and I decided to get some icecream after we ate pancit & wanton mami. We have seen Big Scoop before but did not realize this is an ice cream parlor. We ordered the Peach Melba Delight and it was YUM! The ambiance was nice. The benches were unfortunately cramped for my size. The parking was not enough for cars but would fit a few motorcycles easy. The location - in the middle of the intersection, which makes the ingress & egress a bit cumbersome. Again, as for the ice cream, they definitely rival the more famous brands like Magnolia, Selecta, Nestlé etc. And they also offer sugarless (no sugar added) flavors for those who avoid ice cream due to health issues. If you didn't know Viking's buffet serve Big Scoop Ice Cream, since being regulars at this buffet we are pretty familiar with this ice cream brand. Funny story, a customer was telling the cashier, "Dumayo pa ako galing Marikina." As she was behind him, my wife said to this customer, "Taga Marikina po kayo? Kame din." Then another customer said; "Kame po Marikina din, sa Barangka." A testament to the product and the place, people go out of their way to buy this ice cream from this place. Even when we can buy from other retailers closer to home. We brought home Avocado ice cream for my lola and she was very happy and delighted eating it. ”

“ Favorite ice cream place. Regular food also on the menu. They own Carousel creamery in Greenhills. They don’t accept credit card payment. Only negative is parking, inconsiderate car and motorcycle owners always park irregularly on the spaces. The guard doesn’t care to assist drivers/riders to park properly to allow for more efficient parking ”

“ avocado, strawberry, double dutch, dark chocolate so many flavors to choose from, must try the ice cream ”

“ A comfort place to go to. Be it for dine-in of ice cream or take-out! An institution of San Juan in my opinion. Banana split and peach melba are favorites!! ”

- Carol Chua -

“ I haven't been to a legit ice cream shop in years, and being at Big Scoop felt nostalgic. Try their cheesecake ice cream, and always go for double scoop! ”
